Fairplex (Los Angeles County Fairgrounds)
A 543-acre regional fairgrounds in Pomona, founded in 1922 and operated by the Los Angeles County Fair Association, hosting the annual May fair and year-round events.

Fairplex began in 1922 when the City of Pomona donated 43 acres as the foundation for a regional fairgrounds. Today it spans 543 acres at 1101 West McKinley Avenue and serves as a multipurpose venue operated by the Los Angeles County Fair Association. The facility hosts the Los Angeles County Fair each May, along with hundreds of trade shows, consumer expos, conventions and sporting events throughout the year.
The May fair has grown into a signature event drawing families and food enthusiasts from across Southern California. The LA County Fair Association, a nonprofit organization, reinvests its revenues into maintaining and improving the fairgrounds facilities and programs. The grounds played a significant historical role during World War II, when it served as the Pomona Assembly Center, a temporary facility for Japanese Americans awaiting transfer to permanent internment camps. A plaque erected in 2016 acknowledges this difficult chapter in the site's history.
For Pomona families, events at Fairplex mark the seasons—a trip to the fair, a school function on the grounds, a weekend show or celebration. These occasions, whether planned months ahead or visited on a whim, are the kind of traditions people want to protect. Life insurance helps ensure that if something unexpected happens to the person managing those family moments, the financial obligations don't fall suddenly on the people left behind.
